Learning Materials

Universities worldwide provide access to many excellent resources, developed by their academics for their own students, but accessible to anyone with an internet connection and a web browser.

The OUM Library Resources catalog provides links to many of these, arranged by topic.

Examples of the wide range of material available include:

1. Clinical Case Computer Tutorials in Biochemistry (University of Manitoba)
These computer tutorials allow medical students and other health science students to assess their knowledge of biochemistry and related disciplines and to test their ability to use this knowledge in simplified clinical settings.

2. Histology Course Web Site (College Of Medicine, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champagne)
This course covers microscopic anatomy, integrating form with function. Course lectures are complemented by on-line laboratories featuring their own Internet Atlas of Histology.

3. Neuroanatomy Lab Resource Appendices (Temple University School of Medicine's Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology)
Has atlases/images, videos, neuro-embryology, a comprehensive neurological exam and interactive quizzes (Select an item from the navigation bar at the top of the page).

4. Basic Radiology Imaging Lectures (Creighton Medical Center)
'Select 'Basic Imaging' from the navigation bar to access a collection of illustrated radiology imaging lectures covering topics such as Introduction to Chest Xray and Ultrasound of Early Pregnancy.
