Assessable Assignment

To assess your information literacy skills and ability to use medical informatics effectively OUM requires you to complete a brief assignment prior to beginning your second term of studies.

The assignment requires you to conduct some preliminary internet research on medical jurisprudence in your country and location, compile a list of high quality, relevant internet resources relevant to the topic and submit this list to OUM’s Medical Librarian for assessment.

Learning Outcomes

  • Develop an understanding of the medical ethico-legal framework in the country and/or state in which you live.
  • Know the process for searching the internet, including selecting and effectively using discovery tools and framing your question to suit.
  • Evaluate the quality of the resources you discover.
  • Know how to cite those resources accurately.
