Like all medical schools and other higher education institutions, OUM has established a number of policies and regulations that standardise student situations ranging from attendance and dissemination of grades, to substance abuse, retaking exams, and special considerations. At the time of matriculation, students are required to sign a statement that they have read and understood all of the information in the OUM catalogue, and that they agree to abide by these rules and regulations. OUM reserves the right to add or alter policies as the need arises.

Students are responsible for checking the online catalogue regularly for the most current set of policies. When significant policy changes are implemented, students are notified through the online curriculum system, called Moodle, and via their OUM e-mail address.
