An Overview

OUM’s Undergraduate MBBS, offered from July 2009, is a five-year medical education program directed at secondary or high school leavers primarily from Samoa, Australia, Malaysia, India, and other Asia-Pacific nations. MORE

The mission of Oceania University of Medicine is to produce physicians with the requisite knowledge, skills, and attitudes to improve the health of underserved communities in Oceania and beyond. MORE

Samoa, OUM's Home

  Samoa is a peaceful country of warm and friendly people who gained their independence from New Zealand some 40 years ago. American and European students may find it similar to visiting a Caribbean island nation. Since the medical school is operated in close cooperation with Samoan government, its future is secure.  MORE

Accreditation and Official Designations

Oceania University of Medicine is a young medical school, still amid its accreditation process. Most international accrediting bodies require that schools be in operation for a certain number of years and hold at least one graduation ceremony before new schools can apply for accreditation. MORE
